So true. And she got scant attention on the Oscars show. That was sad to see. I hoped for some type of tribute.

Marcie, you are a voice in the wilderness. I don't have much stomach for commercial TV these days, even as an exercise in sociological observation, but as chance would have it I was captive audience to the E! Channel the day Shirley Temple died, while waiting to see my urologist (whatever happened to Muzak?). Shirley's name did not come up, but I did catch some breathless reporting on the subject of a recent tweet by one of the Kardashians, along with breaking news on photoshopped bikini shots.

Also: a mere quarter page tribute in People Magazine. And barely more than that in Time and Newsweek.

I expected entire souvenier tribute issues of LIFE or People.

Really, all I should expect these days is to be disappointed.
